Move and stretch
Sitting - sometimes for hours without end - is something we all do. Be it in a car, at a desk, in a plane, in front of the tv.
The average adult sits for 9.3hours a day - even more than the average amount of time spent sleeping
Sitting is called the new smoking - and here is why:

- Sitting increases risk of death up to 40%
- As soon as you sit down calorie burning will drop to 1 per minute.
- Enzymes that help break down fat drop by 90%.
- Electrical activity in the leg muscles shuts off.
- Good cholesterol will drop by 20% after sitting for 120 minutes.
- After 24h insulin effectiveness drop 24% and risk of diabetes rises.
- People with sitting jobs have twice the rate of cardiovascular disease as people with standing jobs.
- Sitting expends almost no energy. Sitting makes us fat!
